Tonight we tried a new “noodle” to prepare for spaghetti. I was intrigued at the grocery store because it said they were made from Chickpeas! I have had a few different run-ins with chickpeas in the past. I never really found a way that I didn’t have to choke them down.
Anyways.. I am always on the quest for new Healthy dinners. Most importantly Gluten Free. So with that being said, here is my “New” and most favored yet, Healthy Spaghetti Recipe.
1 – Pack of Jenny-O 97%Fat Free Ground Turkey
1 – Box of Chickpea Noodles
1 – Bottle of Prego Chunky Garden Combo Sauce
Start with cooking and breaking up your ground turkey. I like to cook over medium heat. I find it isn’t necessary with this ratio of fat to drain. After the meat is thoroughly cooked add your jar of sauce. Turn heat to low and let simmer. Stir occasionally.
Start a pot of water boiling on a separate burner. Once the water begins to have a full boil, add your noodles. Be sure to stir after you pour them in. That will prevent clumping. Start with cooking for minimum time suggested. Remove a noodle and taste for desired consistency. Once cooked to your liking drain and rinse with hot water.
Prepare dish with meat sauce over the noodles.
Wahla! I hope you enjoy this meal as much as my family does. Nothing better than a comfort meal without guilt!
Today my husband and I installed a beautiful lighting fixture we bought for our main bath. The existing one was way overdue to be upgraded. Justin got it up and installed, but there was a large space and area that needed paint to blend from the last fixture.
With me being impatient and always looking to add charm, I suggested adding a wood backer to the light. That way no painting or repairs and my beautiful light could be done quicker.
We have Barnwood left from a Barn my husband had dismantled. So he suggested we use that. He cut it to size and added the hole needed for the electrical. It took two screws to secure to the wall. It was then simply mounted the fixture to the wood. I couldn’t believe what a difference it made! I swear, the ceilings seem taller!
I cannot wait to find other areas in our home to bring some character to. This same process could be used for other lighting or even curtain rods! Yay!

Today I am sharing this cute and fun matching game. My 2 year old adores this game has a blast every time I get it out. I love that we can use this set in multiple ways for play and learning. I like to count the colors with her, let her draw the sticks and make matches. Sometimes I even hide the matches for a hide and seek version.
This game set can be purchased for $10 Shipped through our new Etsy Shop or our Facebook page – Home Sweet Tree
If you like to DIY it can easily be made in a little amount of time.
You will need:
Craft Felt and Lage Popsicle sticks in your desired colors. I used the classic rainbow selection.
and a sewing machine
– I drew out the pattern for the popsicle tops on a paper plate. It was easily accessible and hard enough to create a good template.
– Trace your template onto the felt two times per color then cut.
– Simply match your felt pieces and sew together.
*Now you have an adorable and fun learning activity to play with your little one!
I hope you enjoy this set as much as we do!

What are you favorite go to meals when you know you have a busy week coming up?
Oh my word, this has got to be one of my all time favorite salads. I came across this joyous blend of ingredients rummaging through my fridge last summer. I swear all the delicious flavors just burst in your mouth. It is heaven on your taste buds. Once again, it is a family favorite and QUICK!
I start with cutting freshly washed romaine into nice and thin strips. I add about a 1/4c of crumbled Feta, a small handful of cashews or almonds, and 4oz of shredded turkey – I LOVE Golden Legacy Brand. It has no fillers or weird preservatives. I like to mix in about 2 – 3 Tablespoons for dressing depending on mood. I indulge and use Marzetti Supreme Caesar. Blend and enjoy!
Everyone likes to save money, especially if it is effortless. Our family does a lot of online shopping. I love the convince of finding the best prices and being able to have it shipped directly to my home.
A few years back I stumbled upon a website called Mr.Rebates. It is a click-through site for shopping at over 2,000 stores. Basically, it has a large database with participating major online stores. You then click the link to shop as you would at your desired website. If you are a registered user of Mr.Rebates you will then earn a Percentage % back of your purchase price.
Other great money and time-saving features of the site is you can search for the best deal from the online stores and then earn and percentage back on top of it. That’s a win-win in my book. Mr. Rebates also lists the current coupon codes for your selected store. That definitely saves time when it come to searching for an up to date and valid code.
Each time you purchase, your rebate amount is added to an “account”. You can then redeem your money from there and they will mail you a check for your amount. On average we redeem a check once a year before the Holidays, and it is about $200. Not to bad for just clicking a link.
Check it out here! I promise it will be worth the few minutes to sign up. Happy Shopping!!
