Today I am sharing this cute and fun matching game. My 2 year old adores this game has a blast every time I get it out. I love that we can use this set in multiple ways for play and learning. I like to count the colors with her, let her draw the sticks and make matches. Sometimes I even hide the matches for a hide and seek version.
This game set can be purchased for $10 Shipped through our new Etsy Shop or our Facebook page – Home Sweet Tree
If you like to DIY it can easily be made in a little amount of time.
You will need:
Craft Felt and Lage Popsicle sticks in your desired colors. I used the classic rainbow selection.
and a sewing machine
- I drew out the pattern for the popsicle tops on a paper plate. It was easily accessible and hard enough to create a good template.
- Trace your template onto the felt two times per color then cut.
- Simply match your felt pieces and sew together.
*Now you have an adorable and fun learning activity to play with your little one!
I hope you enjoy this set as much as we do!
Our schedule has been super crazy the past couple weeks and I haven’t had much time to plan some great dinners to share. So I will be making and sharing Baked Chicken with Spinach & Artichokes – from Diethood.com. Follow the link below to get this great recipe.
Baked Chicken with Spinach and Artichokes – Diethood.com
I decided to pair our meal with Wild Rice and Sour Dough bread. I absolutely cannot wait to try this meal tonight!
What are you favorite go to meals when you know you have a busy week coming up?
Oh my word, this has got to be one of my all time favorite salads. I came across this joyous blend of ingredients rummaging through my fridge last summer. I swear all the delicious flavors just burst in your mouth. It is heaven on your taste buds. Once again, it is a family favorite and QUICK!
I start with cutting freshly washed romaine into nice and thin strips. I add about a 1/4c of crumbled Feta, a small handful of cashews or almonds, and 4oz of shredded turkey – I LOVE Golden Legacy Brand. It has no fillers or weird preservatives. I like to mix in about 2 – 3 Tablespoons for dressing depending on mood. I indulge and use Marzetti Supreme Caesar. Blend and enjoy!
Everyone likes to save money, especially if it is effortless. Our family does a lot of online shopping. I love the convince of finding the best prices and being able to have it shipped directly to my home.
A few years back I stumbled upon a website called Mr.Rebates. It is a click-through site for shopping at over 2,000 stores. Basically, it has a large database with participating major online stores. You then click the link to shop as you would at your desired website. If you are a registered user of Mr.Rebates you will then earn a Percentage % back of your purchase price.
Other great money and time-saving features of the site is you can search for the best deal from the online stores and then earn and percentage back on top of it. That’s a win-win in my book. Mr. Rebates also lists the current coupon codes for your selected store. That definitely saves time when it come to searching for an up to date and valid code.
Each time you purchase, your rebate amount is added to an “account”. You can then redeem your money from there and they will mail you a check for your amount. On average we redeem a check once a year before the Holidays, and it is about $200. Not to bad for just clicking a link.
Check it out here! I promise it will be worth the few minutes to sign up. Happy Shopping!!
With Spring just around the corner and everything beginning to thaw out, I cannot help but think of the warm sun and fresh air. Today, I was craving a nice, lite and satisfying dinner. One of my favorite meals in the summer is Quinoa Avocado Wraps/Bowls. It is a nice blend of Guacamole with fresh chopped tomatoes, black beans and sweet corn on a bed of pillowed quinoa. You can alternatively dress it up by building it in a wrap with a dollop of sour cream and shredded cheese.
There is no “official” recipe for this, and I like that it can easily be adjusted to taste. I actually ended up leaving out the chopped onion tonight. However, this is what I used for an quick assembly.
All Natural Wholly Guacamole – 1 package
Cherry Tomatoes – Halved then quartered – To Taste ( I used about 2/3 of container)
1 can Black Beans
1 can Sweet Corn
Lime Juice – about 1 lime or to taste
1 cup Quinoa cooked to direction + 1 tsp of chili powder in water
Cook the quinoa according to package (Add 1 tsp of chili powder in water). Wash and cut the tomatoes. After they are all halved and quartered squeeze the liquids from them. Rinse and Drain the Beans and Corn. Combine Guacamole, Tomatoes, Beans and Corn (I use about 1 cup each) and lime juice. Stir to coat then add Salt if you find necessary.
You then can make a bowl dish by adding the Guacamole mixture on top of a serving of Quinoa or make into a wrap of your liking. That’s it!
I hope you all enjoy this meal as much as I do. It is so filling and completely guilt free. Yum!
Boy, this combo is delicious! I have eaten Avocado with these similar ingredients numerous times. However, sometimes you need a good sandwich. As a matter of fact, why not incorporate it into your dinner menu. They are often quick, easy and a can pair with many sides to make a balanced meal.
Tonight we had Bacon, Tomato and Avocado on top a crispy bed of lettuce and a thin layer of Miracle Whip.
The Thick Cut (Brown Sugar) Bacon was cooked hands free in the Oven at 350 for about 25 minutes on a foil lined pan. I cut nice thick slices of tomato and avocado to put upon the romaine lettuce. We prefer Miracle Whip on our sandwiches, but feel free to experiment and use other dressings including Mayo. I also believe thin onion slices would be a great addition as well!
This blend of delicious flavors is sure a favorite in our home! What did you have for dinner tonight?
